The maintenance and repair of masonry chimneys and walls above the roof line is essential to the waterproof condition of your home. This work should be considered before or during the roof replacement to prevent scuffs or staining to a new roof.   Often leaks around the chimney are not the roofing or flashing at all, but the source of the leak is the brick or stonework.  Removing the mortar and re-pointing with Type S or Portland mortar not only seals and strengthens the masonry, but also prevents more costly rebuilds in the future.  Additionally, the application of a masonry sealer is effective in the maintenance of the mortar joints and crown.  We also install stock and custom fabricated steel and copper chimney flue caps.
